A MIX- AND-MATCH BETWEEN NATURAL, TECHOLOGY AND FUTURISM, INVADED COLOMBIAMODA 2012 RUNWAYS

  • Colombiamoda 2012, Colombia´s Fashion Week was the opportunity for Camilo Alvarez to present his collection with a performance in the runway.

 

Julio 2012. What sounds Absolut Vodka? This was the question that the designer answered last night with his collection. Inspired by the latest campaign of the iconic Swedish brand of vodka, ABSOLUT GREYHOUND. Camilo presented his last collection arose from the observation of music and its surroundings.

 

In Colombia the brand chose Camilo Alvarez to interpretate the concept that surrounds ABSOLUT GREYHOUND. "Colombians will see male and female looks with multi-layered management." They will be garments with long flight, which will be accompanied by structured pieces. "We join in this visual, musical and tactile, experiment where blends the organic, natural and wild with the technology and Futurism with ABSOLUT", said the designer previously to the runway.

 

Referring to the essence of his brand, this new national design talent says that "all collections come from everyday experiences that become special. We want to make our proposal to make special moments of those who wear our clothes. We have an interest in presenting a proactive design that is usable and innovative at the same time”.

 

The scenario where he presented his collection was unique and very authentic, since it came out of the context of the joint runway and had a totally disruptive, production. The color palette of the collection was focused in the blue, yellow and red, complemented with neutral as grays, creams, white and black.

 

Carolina Franc, ABSOLUT COLOMBIA brand´s manager concludes that "ABSOLUT is a brand which, in addition to supporting worldwide talented artists, creates exceptional projects." "On this occasion the new ABSOLUT GREYHOUND campaign has been the perfect way to bring to reality Camilo´s new collection".

 

"Camilo Álvarez" brand, emerged in 2008 as a personal project of the designer, after being invited to participate in the runway LAF (Latin America Fashion). In 2010 he became a part of "Sentido figurative S.A.S". Since then he has presented spring-summer collections in Colombiamoda.
