- This is the most important place for academic training about Fashion System in Latin America.
- 23 lectures by national and international experts will enjoy Colombiatex assistants.
- Dalia Gallico was responsible for opening the conference with the theme: What is a Fashion System?
January 2012. The inaugural lecture by Dalia Gallico took place this morning at the Knowledge Pavilion. Gallico, President of the Association of the Design Lab Signum, Italy, talked about the concept of a Fashion System, its successfully implementation in Europe and how to implement it in Colombia.
According to Gallico, this model is a "cross fertilization" of different network components (innovation, design and cultural background) that come together in support of the fashion industry to create new meanings and forms of communication and synergy.
The Italian explained that the model applied in countries like Italy, France, England and Brazil has become a success thanks to a strategy which links education, innovation, the implementation of new technologies and popular tradition.
“Education is the most accurate way to achieve innovation” said Gallico, and explained that the collaboration between designers, artists, decorators, stylist, students, consumers, suppliers, sociologists and anthropologists is vital in the process of creation of a Fashion System.
Luz Adriana Naranjo, Inexmoda Director of Competitiveness and Internationalization, and Diego Álvarez, Planning Director at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), were responsible for the installation of Inexmoda- UPB Knowledge Pavilion.
“This Pavilion is an important academic space for all those fashion lovers and a reference in Latin America” said Naranjo while welcoming attendees to the inauguration.
Students, designers, entrepreneurs, media, advertisers, academics and others involved in the fashion industry gather at the Knowledge Pavilion, the most important place for academic training about Fashion System in Latin America, which takes place at Colombiatex thanks to a successful partnership between Inexmoda and the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB).
