COLOMBIATEX DE LAS AMÉRICAS 2012 THE PATH TOWARDS FASHION SYSTEM IN LATIN AMERICA

November 2011. Colombiatex de las Americas 2012, the most important business showcase of Fashion System in Latin America, is back, reloaded, on a large fairgrounds, significant innovations, the participation of 416 exhibitors, business opportunities in the amount of US$119 million, and the attendance of over 12,000 buyers and visitors from several cities in Colombia and from 34 countries, in order to promote trade opportunities between producers and distributors from the textile sector, machinery and consumables with buyers and investors, in an environment of optimism thanks to the recent approval of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States, which will bring huge opportunities for entrepreneurs in the sector, and for international entrepreneurs who decide to invest in Colombia for access to the U.S. market.


As usual every year, between January 24 and 26 in Plaza Mayor, Medellin, representatives from companies in the sectors of chemicals, fiber, woven string, weaving, textile machinery and garments and consumables, as well as textile merchandisers and finished products companies, will gather at the business showcase of Fashion System, the first event of the year for the world of textiles. 

 


Carlos Eduardo Botero Hoyos, CEO of Inexmoda, explained that "This 24th edition of the fair will focus on Fashion System, suggesting thought upon the importance of the integration of each of the players in order to build a stronger country, together. Along those lines, we will share innovations that seek to respond to the needs of the sector and to make the fair a more business-oriented venue."
Innovations at the fair

Inexjobs, an alliance between Inexmoda and Fashion Jobs
One of the most important novelties from the 24th edition of Colombiatex, will be the launching of the alliance between Inexmoda and Fashion Jobs, the first specialized and international employment network, seeking to gather professionals and entrepreneurs from the textiles, tailoring, design and fashion sector, who desire to work or employ new people. This will gather the labor offering, not only from Colombia, but also in international markets from companies similar to Fashion System.

Denim Review
In response to the evolution and the 'winning streak' of Indigo in the world, 14 of the most important national and international companies in this segment will gather once more at Denim Review, opening the way to the future based on innovation and textile leadership in indigos.

The venue, located in the Urban Zone of Plaza Mayor, is Inexmoda's dare, thanks to the success in 2011 of its first edition, where thoughts on the present and future of jeans wear in the world will be discussed, and will serve as an inspiration and model for brands, showcasing possibilities for the segmentation of their portfolios," added the Executive President of Inexmoda.

Textiles and Consumables Forum
The tendencies in textiles and consumables of the 2012 Spring and Summer season, will come again thanks to the Textiles and Consumables forum. At the event, entrepreneurs, buyers, students and designers will see a representative sampling of the fabric and trends offered during the fair.

Similarly, the Textile and Consumables Forum will have a preview of the textile fashion concepts for the Spring-Summer 2013 season, and two daily talks given by the Inexmoda Fashion Lab, led by its Director Martha Calad, as a complement to the fashion information provided at the event. 

Entry of the Chemical Industry 
In consistency with the need to work as a team to achieve ongoing innovation, in connection with and facing Fashion System, and thanks to its renewed interest, the chemical industry will be present at Colombiatex 2012 with a significant number of companies with stakes on a collaborative effort through leadership and knowledge, facilitating the implementation of new developments contributing to textile fashion and manufacturing, starting from distinction. 

Machinery and consumables 
Machinery and consumables companies have also decided to bet on the most important showcase of the Fashion System Moda business, understanding that this is the ideal commercial venue for producers and textile distributors, industrial, technical applications, equipment, machinery and consumables for the fashion, home, footwear and leather accessory industries. There will also be an important presence in 2012, highlighting the latest generation machinery and equipment as a result of the world launching which took place in the recent version of ITMA, promising a good business atmosphere.

A space for knowledge
Along the lines with the mission to train and professionalize the Fashion System in Latin America, Inexmoda will continue to consolidate the Knowledge Pavilion Inexmoda - UPB, as the most powerful space for training in Latin America. 24 conferences will be given on this occasion, addressing the issues of Colombiatex – Fashion System - to reflect upon the beginning of the pathway towards Fashion System, looking initially at successful international cases such as that of France, Italy, England and Brazil, helping to better understand and encourage the players to take the initiative.

In 2012, the Knowledge Pavilion Inexmoda - UPB, expects to reach over 16,000 people trained in the Metropolitan Theater, and over 1,000 people from 10 countries who followed the conferences online in 2011.
