IN A CEREMONY WITH THE PRESENCE OF SERGIO DIAZ-GRANADOS, MINISTER OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND TOURISM, COLOMBIATEX OFFICIALLY OPENED

Colombiatex officially opened

  • Business expectations for US$119 million are expected in the 24th version of Combiatex.

January 2012. In a positive economic environment in which the expectations of both Colombian government and entrepreneurs points to the use of the U.S. - Colombia Trade Agreement, Colombiatex officially opened this Tuesday January 24th at Plaza Mayor, Medellín.

The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Sergio Díaz-Granados highlighter the opportunities the U.S. - Colombia Trade Agreement will bring for the entrepreneurs, and was confident that this trade agreement will be implemented this year. “About Trade Agreements, we have achieved great advances and this year we are expecting to also close an agreement with the European Union.”


Tribute to a lifetime

During the official opening Inexmoda brought tribute to the renowned journalist Humberto López López, for his 50 years of career as a journalist and his input to the society trough different areas as public relations, law, social science and economy.


“We would like to recognize Humberto López López for his job as a journalist and his support to Inexmoda trough these 24 years. There is no doubt his is one of the precursors of Colombian Journalism”, add inexmoda CEO.


López López, who participated in the creation of the School of Journalism at the University of Antioquia, and the School of Corporate Relations at the University of Medellín, was excited for the tribute. “Thanks to Inexmoda and the Textile Industry. I receive this honor on behalf of all journalists who are seeking news in favor of democracy.”


Colombiatex will continue till January 26th at Plaza Mayor, Medellín.
