COLOMBIATEX 2012 HAS CLOSED LEAVING MORE THAN US$120,5 MILLIONS IN BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND 9% MORE VISITORS

Colombiatex 2012 has closed

January 2012. Colombiatex have successfully closed leaving business opportunities for US$120, 5, being the most important showcase for the Fashion System in Latin America.


The U.S. - Colombia Trade Agreement was the special guest at Colombiatex 24th edition allowing new business opportunities between entrepreneurs from both countries.


Carlos Eduardo Botero Hoyos, Inexmoda CEO, said this year the tradeshow gather 1.529  international buyers, and highlighted the support Proexport gave to Colombiatex inviting 622 buyers from 46 different countries as Germany, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, Costa Rica, Curacao, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Holland, Honduras, India, England, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, Norway, New Zealand, Pakistan, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Dominica Republic, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Uruguay, and Venezuela. 


Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, in a message sent to Inexmoda CEO Carlos Eduardo Botero, highlighted the value of Colombiatex for the Fashion System economy and the develop of the Textile Industry.


This year the tradeshow overcome all the expectations about visitors, hosting a total amount of 15.477 both national and international assistants, it means 9% more than 2011. 9.247 of those were national attendees and 1.529 international buyers.


Thanks to the Mission of National Buyers, 20 entrepreneurs from Bogota, Cali and Barranquilla were invited by the Medellin-Antioquia Chamber of Commerce and the Textile Cluster. The main goal of this strategy was stimulate the domestic market which was successfully achieved leaving 6 companies with business for US$675.525, an average of US$100.000 per company.


Colombiatex: The Fashion System showcase

Colombiatex became the platform of the latest news of the Fashion World, highlighting the recent discovers in technology, machines and inputs. Denim companies were in the spotlight when the partnership between the Spanish company Jenealogía and Marithé Francois Girbaud presents a new laser technology they have developed to save water and power in the denim production.


Trends and Knowledge

During the Textile and Inputs Forum lead by Inexmoda Fashion Lab, the attendees could know the trends for the seasons Spring – Summer 2012 and Autumn-Winter 2012-2013.


The Knowledge Pavilion was the platform for the latest news of the fashion industry and the most important place for academic training about Fashion System in Latin America. The visitors of this Pavilion could enjoyed the lectures of fashion specialist as Dalia Gallico, President of the Association of the Design Lab Signum, Italy, the French designer Francois Girbaud and Vinicius Shane, Creation and Development for the Design of Products specialist and founding member of the Orbitato Institute, Brazil.


A total amount of 16.080 people assisted to the lectures and 1.015 watched the conferences online.
