Colombia is recognized internationally as a country which possesses great strengths in the textile and apparel businesses and, specifically, in the fashion business.  The different international fairs are a clear example of the strengths of the textile-apparel business, as well as of the huge efforts being made to modernize the industry and respond to the demands placed upon fairs of this type.

Bucaramanga, besides being famous for being the city that sells the most economic and varied footwear in the country, wants to stand out as possessing the first industrial center for this sector in Colombia.

The implementation and operation of the Cluster Community around the financial activities which offer the greatest potential for Antioquia’s development such as: Energy, Textile/Manufacturing, Design and Fashion and Construction, become a tool for strengthening regional development, which is only possible with the involvement of all corporate, educational and governmental actors.

The total number of buyers invited by PROEXPORT to Colombiatex continues increasing.  539 buyers were invited in 2006, while in 2007 572 buyers visited seeking to purchase our materials and to place their production in our country.
