Concept: Conscious fashion, more than a trend
Conscious fashion, more than a trend.
The reflection for a better future, away from the unconsciousness and abuses committed by human beings during the last decades, is the reflection we make from Inexmoda, that far from trying to generate a simple debate, seeks to direct strong measures for the sustainable development of the textile apparel industry.
Today's consumer, an individual dissatisfied with the social and environmental policies, leads us nowadays to promote dialogue about ethics, since it is himself who begins to set trends and demand better practices from the market, environmental sustainability and ethical principles, framed within the canons of aesthetics and beauty.
Events such as the financial crisis, industrial models with poor practices towards its suppliers and employees, unfair competition, plagiarism of products without any level of research or innovation aimed at no one, and sweatshops that threaten communities, are reason enough to offend the sensibilities of a society that ultimately seeks to put ethics as the leading character.
Today we inhabit a world full of measures tending to halt the destruction of nature, where the consumer mentality evolves and migrates to more responsible consumption patterns, thus, the fashion industry takes over this new reality with cleaner and more sustainable production, it is supplied from organic, recyclable and biodegradable inputs and focuses on more practical and conscious designs. The concern of our Fashion System is how to achieve this without compromising its marketing models and product profitability.
We all want to do something about it: companies, brands and consumers adopt a new post-carbon economy. We begin to change our habits and to reevaluate what we have done so far. The consumer has the criteria to choose what to consume and what not consume.
The scenario: on the one hand a conscious consumer, with principles, that expresses himself with his purchasing decisions and declares to the world his position of disagreement; on the other hand the major brands, today capturing a series of cultural expressions, which make reflections based on them and develop strategies aimed to their customers, developing portfolios translated into a lifestyle. The attribution of quality and aesthetics is already understood by consumers that seek to go beyond and expect products that identify with their being.
Conscious fashion, ethical fashion is more than a trend... it is a fundamental change of thinking. It should be an industry developed from common values, from the respect for fair trade, fair competition, able to say NO TO COPIES, favoring raw materials and substances that generate the least impact on the environment, waste recycling, durability of garments, among others.
CONSCIOUS, ETHICAL, FAIR OR EQUITABLE, several ways and all of them correct to call the origin of the respectful work of men and the environment.
Today, it is the consumer who defines what businesses do, today it is the consumer who is concerned about healthy consumption and it is he who brands should listen to and at the same time speak to.
This is how Inexmoda creates spaces for reflection of the industry and, as an Institution, undertakes to investigate where we are going in order to draw a future always based on consumer macrotrends.
