With big expectations the Pavilion New Business Models started

  • In the pavilion New Business Models are 28 companies, some of the with several brands from different countries. 60 national and Investors are looking for an encounter with this companies.
  • New Business Models Inexmoda's big bet in Colombiamoda 2011 is a space to promote the expansion of commercial models, through alliances, joint ventures and franchises.
  • In Colombia there are a approximate of 425 franchises, from which 62.68% started in the Country, besides 21.18% are from the fashion/manufacturing sector.
  • Colombia is among one of the countries with a significant amount of franchises.

July 2011. Even though there is a high number of companies that are borne everyday in Colombia, there is even a bigger amount of companies that die when they are not a franchise. According to masfranquicias 95% of the companies that are born under the concept of a franchise survive the first year in opposition to the 65% of independent businesses that after their fifth year are forced to close.

During the 22nd version of Colombiamoda, The New Business Pavilion was introduced in a tour for businessmen and press, as Inexmoda's biggest bet, because it was thought as a space made especially for potential investors, that are looking to venture in the fashion industry with the franchise model or other formulas.
 
Clara Henriquez, Head of the commercial area of Inexmoda assured that "consciousness in the evolution in the way business is being made is what made us bet for these changes, for those new business models that are a popular right now, trying to generate optimum spaces for the sector. We started this project two years ago and have been perfecting to get the right investors and companies".

This will help ratify Colombiamoda as one of the most important platforms, not only in fashion but in the business in Latin America and for that Masfranquicias is great support to Inexmoda thanks to its experience.
 " We want that the New Business Model Pavilion to be an operational hub, an encounter place for businessmen and investors.", in this space we have28 companies, som of the with several brands and 60 national and international investors.

After the first day, the investors are being optimistic by the expectation that the new Pavilion is generating. Jose Pablo Macia, Tennis Brand Heads of Tennis expansion explained that "We have had a structured expansion model with franchise which has brought us excellent results . A month ago we opened in Chile, soon we'll open in Curacao, Guatemala, Montevideo and possibly Lima.  We also have started negotiations with five different Central American countries, and we hope to open more with the help of this pavilion.

Edson Amaro CEO of Brazilian Company Hering's International Business department, said "The good thing about the franchise model is that it helps to position the brand. We've had a successful experience that lets us have 420 stores. Only in 2010 we opened in average2 stores per day. This time we want to come to Colombia and think this is the ideal space to have this encounters"

Recent studies revealed that the most important markets globaly by franchis numbers are United States, with near 2.800 companies or brands under this format, followed by Canada, Japan, Australia, England, France and Mexico. In Latin America countries like Brazil, followed by Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia are fighting over a slice of this business. Just in Colombia 21.18% of the franchises are from the fashion industry.

Franchises in Numbers

  • Every 8 minutes a franchise opens in United States. Out of 2.500 franchises half of them have already exported, these give more than 50% of retail salesand generate more than 170.000 jobs every year.
  • During 2009 the Brazilian franchise sector growed 18% in comparison to 2008, reaching a total of 1.643 franchises, a 70% more than 2005. Total income came to US$36.200 millions in 2009.
  • In Colombia franchises generate more tha 65.000 direct jobs, and 27.000 indirect jobs.
  • In Mexico there are more than 30.000 franchise stores that report salesfor US$4.000 million per year and have contributed to the creation of more than 300.000 indirect jobs.
  • In Argentina 58.67% of jobs are thanks to franchises, sector that growed in 2009 between 4.5% and a 5% and a 6% in 2010 according to the Argentina Franchise Association AFF.
  • Venezuela has more thann 5% of franchise stores, that generate more than 60.000 direct jobs and 120.000 indirect jobs.
